Motivated by his passion to inspire and give back, Athletes in
Acting Awards founder, Larry York’s love for sports, his
fascination for entertainment and education, encouraged him to
create Athletes in Acting Awards’ Hand Up Foundation. The
creation is designed to encourage diversity, mentor student-
athletes’ development and award scholarships to those in the
underserved and general populous specializing in radio,
television, film, social media, the arts, advertising and marketing.
The aim is to pioneer, enhance, innovate and “lend a helping
hand” to reciprocate and contribute to changing the creative
landscape of today and for the future.

Our mission is simple: to mentor and improve the quality of life of student-athletes by awarding grants/scholarships to those majoring in radio, television, film, social media, advertising, marketing, and the arts.
